Just got an email from our friend in Haiti who delivered our gift and photos to Stevenson. She sent this photo of him holding the gift - once again, a difficult photo for us to receive... he looks so unhappy. I'm imagining that he was quite disappointed that we weren't a part of the mission team that showed up at their gate. I know this has happened in the past. The kids learn a team is coming to visit and they all get their hopes up that their Mama and Papa are among those visiting... once again, we weren't among them and it breaks our hearts.
I do know that we are doing what we can, I know he is grateful for some word from us and I know he enjoys the photos.
We also got some measurements of him. When the mission teams go down they take measurements of the kids for all the adoptive families and we haven't seemed to get them for a long time now so I pleaded with our friend to get them for us. He is almost 8 1/4 years old and he is 47 inches tall, 45 lbs and wears a size 2 shoe. In comparison, Dakota is 8 1/2 years old and at his Dr. appt last week, he was 53 inches tall and 59 lbs. I looked at the growth charts and he is barely at the 5th percentile, for height and weight, but Dakota also wears a size 2 shoe, so that leads me to believe that when this little guy gets some good meals in him, he's going to shoot up!
Please join us in praying he'll be home for a big Christmas feast....

So happy to hear that you have new pics and info on your son!!! It must be terribly difficult and frustrating right now, but we will join you in prayer that he WILL be home by the end of this year!!
What a perfect gift that would be, to have him home by Christmas. Praying for your family that you will be blessed with this gift.
It's so wonderful that you can send him gifts that get hand delivered! I'm sure he loves looking at the pictures you sent along for him. What a great reminder for him to know that he has a family waiting for him.
We are hoping that your son is home for Christmas and what a huge gift that would be.
It must have been so wonderful to know that he received your package and messages of love.
Hugs
