Shipped out

We found out that there will be a small mission team going to Haiti on Oct. 17 - 22 and a friend of ours will be leading the group. So, I went shopping for a small gift to send along for Stevenson - this is always SO hard. WHAT in the world do I get for this sweet boy who has NOTHING and we want to give EVERYTHING?! and then it has to fit in a "corner" of my friend's suitcase that is already packed full of donations for the kids. So, I ended up getting the same thing I usually get - some crayons and a coloring book. This time I got Star Wars - I figure I better get him started on the Star Wars kick that Dakota is on!

I also sent some photos of us and of him and Tom and Grandpa Big Joe from their visit with him last December. Then with my "Creole Made Easy" dictionary in one hand and my "Simple (Haitian Creole) Language for Adoptive Families" in the other, I made a lame attempt at writing a little card to him. Oh well, I figure we can laugh at it together when he gets older and we look back at it - he can make fun of my inability to speak or write Creole :). Oh how I long for that day!
