A Must See!

I don't know about you, but I've always loved the show Extreme Makeover Home Edition. As cheesy as parts of it can be, it always leaves me exhausted from crying and exhilerated from inspiration. I hadn't seen it in a while and the other day I happened to see a commercial for it and decided to set the DVR to tape it since I would be out when it aired. I saw them mention it would be about a family that had adopted a number of kids, so of course, I had to watch it.

What an understatement! This family is an incredible inspiration - they are raising 11 boys!! Three are biological and eight were adopted into their family - three from the inner city of Toledo, OH and FIVE FROM HAITI!!! Their story is AMAZING to say the least. The father is a firefighter, the kids range in age from 3 to 18 and the mother was diagnosed with a connective tissue disorder over a year ago. Times have been very difficult for this family crowded into a tiny home and struggling to keep their mom alive. The boys all seem like amazing young men. The oldest three have high aspirations for themselves and plan to go back to Haiti to make a positive impact. They're just so grateful for the lives they've been given.

The entire show was just so amazing and inspirational, but I have to say one of the things that touched me the most was the fact that the story of the conditions in Haiti were being broadcast to such a big audience(!) be it ever so briefly. The show also gathered donations and shipped a few truckloads full of toys and clothing to the kids in Haiti. The reaction on those boys faces when they showed them what they were doing was priceless.... Yay Ty and ABC!!!

If you missed the show, please check it out at http://www.watchextrememakeover.com It is Season 6 Episode 8, the Frisch family - you can watch it in it's entirety - it is really worth it! Enjoy!
