Update overdue(!)

Dear Family and Friends - first I have to apologize for not posting sooner. I'll explain.....

Last week we learned from the US Embassy in Haiti that the passport issued for Stevenson has an error on it! His name was misspelled!! I (now) understand mistakes like this are quite common and that most cases have mistakes of this nature come up in their process atleast once - this is the first we've been made aware of so far - it doesn't mean there haven't been others that we've not known about. Well, I have to confess, I was FURIOUS. Just being real here. Throughout the rest of the day we learned of other "discrepencies" in what's been happening with our case as well which is what added to my anger. By the end of the day it all turned to profound sadness though - another delay means our sweet boy has to stay there longer - without us.

The first passport took 3 months to get! I couldn't imagine another 3 months to get a new one! It was just more than my fragile heart could take. Friday we learned it "should not" take 3 months to get one reissued but rather a few weeks. That was great news, but, again, just being real, "great news" like this is taken with a grain of salt here and we'll have to see how it all pans out. I really try to be optimistic about it all, but so far it has only led to disappointment. Still, we trudge on and try to stay positive about the timeframe - through it all we know he will come home, but it's JUST SO HARD to keep from trying to figure out the time frame! What good can come from him staying there longer? That is the question that won't be answered for us for a long time if ever this side of heaven.

Anyway, that's what's been happening in a nutshell. I'll spare you all the details because I have since accepted there is nothing beneficial that comes out of getting angry at anyone nor keeping a record of wrongs. We are looking forward here and hoping for the best!

As always, I'll let you know when we get the best news of all (now THAT I won't hesitate to post!) Thanks for following along with us....

Chris,
My heart just aches for you guys! I know how frustrating it must be for you -- to hear that it may be so close, only to get delayed again. Stay strong, my friend. There is a reason this is happening, one unfortunately out of our realm of understanding. Love to all of you!!

Hi Chris I am following your blog for a while now.
I hope that Stevensnon's passport will be soon ready wihout any mistakes or delays and that can take him in your arms very soon.
Great to hear that you can call your little man and hear his voice.
Hope for the best tonight with another try and pray that you'll be soon together forever.
